Departmental Objectives:
At the end of the course in Physiology the MBBS students will be able to:
Demonstrate basic knowledge on the normal functions of human body and apply it as a background for clinical subjects.
Interpret normal function with a view to differentiate from abnormal function.
Demonstrate knowledge & skill for performing and interpreting physiological experiments.
Develop Knowledge and skill to proceed to higher studies and research in Physiology in relation to need and disease profile of the country.
Develop sound attitude for continuing self-education to improve efficiency & skill in Physiology.
Course curriculum
Total duration of phase I is 18 months including 1st professional MBBS exam.
1st professional examination to be started on first working day of May/November.
The course is offered in 3 terms.

Lecture classes
Tutorial classes (02 hours)
Discussion on previous lecture for one hour. Next one hour self learning by small group teaching method.
Practical class (02 hours)
Discussion and Demonstration about the procedure: 30 minutes
Procedure done by students in small group (5 in each group) : 1:30 hours
Recording and analysis of 12 leads normal ECG

Assessment system:
•Item exam: one exam (oral) per week . Sometimes written exam also
•Students are divided into 9 to 12 groups ( 3 or 2 students on each group).
