Academic Excellence
The Department of Internal Medicine is committed to nurturing future physicians by providing an enriching learning environment. Through a combination of lectures, hands-on clinical exposure, and interactive case discussions, we ensure our students gain a deep understanding of internal medicine principles. The department is affiliated with Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeon (BCPS) training program. The department also regularly organizes workshops, seminars, and guest lectures by leading experts to enhance the learning experience. The department provides:
- Daily lectures for undergraduate (MBBS) students.
- Daily morning and evening ward class for undergraduate (MBBS) and post graduate (FCPS Trainee) students.
- Weekly morning session presented by Intern Doctors and Trainees on case presentation, topic presentation.
- Weekly grand rounds for Post graduate students.
- Regular arrangements of scientific seminar/ symposium on time demanding topics.
- Arrange participation facility for the faculty members and trainee in National and International Scientific Conferences.
Clinical Expertise
Our clinical services cover a broad spectrum of subspecialties, including cardiology, endocrinology, nephrology, pulmonology, rheumatology, hematology, physical medicine & rehabilitation, and infectious diseases. Students and residents have the opportunity to work alongside faculty in outpatient clinics, inpatient wards, intensive care units, and emergency settings. This exposure equips them to handle complex medical cases with confidence and competence.
Research and Innovation
The department places a strong emphasis on research, encouraging students and faculty to explore innovative solutions to medical challenges. From clinical trials to epidemiological studies, we aim to contribute significantly to advancements in healthcare and medicine. Member of the faculty are continuously enriching the standard by acquiring research grants from Chittagong Medical University. Our faculty has successful collaboration with BMRC and Genetic Engineering Department of University of Chittagong.

a) Outpatient Service: Available round the week except Friday including specialized clinics:
- Geriatric Clinic: Integrated multidisciplinary patient care service available on every Thursday.
- Endocrine Clinic: Available on every Sunday.
- Obesity Clinic: Available on every Monday.
- Thalassemia Clinic: Available on every Saturday.
- Follow up Clinic: Available round the week.
b) In Patient Service: Available 24×7
- Interdepartmental on call facilities providing multidisciplinary management protocols for patients in need.
- Critical block for addressing patients deeming dedicated care.
- Dengue block to address endemics.
- We have successfully served during COVID-19 pandemic with the help of Private Public Partnership.
