Biochemistry

Basic information of Biochemistry Course

•Total duration of Phase I (Biochemistry course) is 18 months including First professional MBBS examination.

•The course is divided into 3 terms 1st, 2nd & 3rd

•The course is expected to start on first day of January.

•First professional examination to be started on first working day of May and November

•Time for integrated teaching, examination, and preparatory leave of formative and summative assessment is common for all subjects of the Phase I

Assessment:

  a) There will be in-course (item/card/term) and end-course (professional) assessment for the students.

  b) Formative assessment is done according to results of term final examination and class attendance.:

At the end of the course the students should be able to:

1.Acquire basic & integrated knowledge on major biomolecules, enzymes, hormones and nutrients with fundamental chemical process in body system.

2.Demonstrate skills in performing & interpreting biochemistry laboratory tests & procedures

3.Demonstrate skills in using modern biochemical appliances.

4.Equip themselves with knowledge for higher studies and research.

5.Develop sound attitude towards the need for continuing self-directed learning.
