Anatomy

Department of Anatomy

Location: Ground floor of the academic building

Basic information of Anatomy Course

•Total duration of Phase I (Anatomy course) is 18 months including First professional MBBS examination.

•The course is divided into 3 terms. Duration: 1st Term: 14 working weeks;   2ndTerm: 15 working weeks;  & 3rdTerm: 14 working weeks

•First professional examination to be started on first working day of May and November

•Time for integrated teaching, examination, and preparatory leave of formative and summative assessment is common for all subjects of the Phase I

Assessment:

  a) There will be in-course (item/card/term) and end-course (professional) assessment for the students according to the current BM&DC curriculum

  b) Formative assessment is done according to results of term final examination and class attendance as per instructions of current BM&DC curriculum.

Departmental Objectives:

At the end of the Anatomy course, the students should be able to:

  • mention, identify, show, draw and describe the structural components of the body responsible for carrying out normal body functions; 
  • use the above knowledge to understand, correlate and appreciate the other pre-clinical, paraclinical and clinical medical subjects;
  • apply the knowledge of Anatomy with the knowledge of other medical subjects to provide optimum health services in the country and abroad.
