The Medical Education Unit (MEU) of Marine City Medical College & Hospital works as an academic support and quality development body dedicated to improving the standard of medical education. Major Activities of MEU
Curriculum Implementation & Review
MEU supports the proper implementation of the MBBS curriculum through regular discussion, monitoring, feedback collection, and academic review. The unit helps departments align teaching activities with curriculum objectives and expected learning outcomes.
Faculty Development Programs
MEU organizes workshops, CME sessions, seminars, and academic meetings to strengthen faculty skills in teaching methodology, student assessment, curriculum delivery, research, and medical education technology. MCMCH already conducts weekly seminars and monthly faculty development workshops as part of its academic development activities.
Academic Sessions & Seminars
The unit encourages regular academic sessions on important topics related to medical education, clinical practice, research methodology, ethics, patient care, and curriculum updates. MCMCH has organized academic sessions on topics such as MBBS Curriculum in Bangladesh 2021, data collection, research problems, antibiotic stewardship, doctor-patient relationship, and other relevant academic areas.

MEU works to improve assessment quality by supporting structured question preparation, formative assessment, OSPE/OSCE development, practical examination planning, viva standardization, and result analysis. The goal is to make evaluation more objective, fair, and competency-based.
